DesiFest 2010

If you are a desi living in Toronto, you look forward to the only major desi event in the heart of Downtown Toronto at Yonge and Dundas during summer, DesiFest. This year again was a success with thousands of people showing up to the event organized by BlueBand Musiq and hosted by the one and only SatsB.

This has to be the only place where you can see people from different generations, cultures, all gather together to enjoy the 12 hour festival. From uncles and aunties to teenagers, all sharing the same floor to show their passion for the South Asian culture (even though the aunties might be talking about the girl by the front of the stage and how she is dressed and why she is screaming for the boy on stage who is singing a song she can't understand, 2 step bhangra, but that's beside the point). Don't worry, there were a lot of acts that catered to the older generation as well such as performances by Shahid Ali Khan and I am pretty sure they were also impressed by Kashif's dance moves as well.
